Obituary

Martha "Sue" Lowrey Thurston, 90, of Keithville, Louisiana was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana on March 26, 1931, and passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Sue was married to her loving husband Dan Thurston for 33 years.   They enjoyed many hobbies together such as gardening, motorcycling, along with attending school and sporting events of their grandchildren and great grandchildren.   They welcomed many rescue dogs into their home and gave them wonderful lives.   They were avid motorcyclists and actively followed the Patriot Guards.   They even worked together in the school system.  Sue absolutely loved learning.   She earned her Bachelor's Degree in education, along with her Master's Degree plus thirty.  She retired after 30 years from Caddo Parish School system where she was a special education teacher.   Her last school was Summerfield Elementary.   She attended First Assembly Church where she enjoyed fellowshipping with other believers.  Sue always spoke of God and how He had blessed her and her family.  Other than God, family was the most important thing to Sue.  She spent her days visiting her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with her sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving nieces and families.  Sue NEVER met a stranger.  She had a kind word for everyone and always made others feel welcome and loved.   She was well known and loved by owners and workers at many local restaurants where they frequented often.   She made friends everywhere she went.   Everyone knew and LOVED the sweet lady with her beautiful clothes and sparkling jewelry.

Sue is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughter, Deana Blankenship and husband Glen; her daughter in law, Betty Reynolds; grandchildren, Kristi Marchiafava and husband Sean; Alyssa Pearce; Candace Pack and husband Dewayne; Aimee Sandifer and husband Darrell; Chasta Marshall and husband Jared; Dara Glass and husband Jeff; great grandchildren: Austin and Madeline Sue Marchiafava, Katelynn, Kade, and Kelsi Chauvin, Hayden and Olivia Pack,  Kayleigh and Dalton Smiley, Chance and wife Skylar Back, Will Back, Alex Marshall, Tatum and Kendall Wilson:  sister, Joan Moore.  She was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Lynn Reynolds.
