IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Ann
Acklin
August 16, 1947 – September 5, 2021
Martha Ann Acklin was born on August 16, 1947 in Shreveport Louisiana, where she resided her entire life. On September 5, 2021 God called her home to be with him and those who proceeded her in death. Her parents J.V. and Elizabeth Buttler of Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Her Brothers James and Omer Buttler, Her sisters Mary Kidwell and Viola Caldwell, and her nephew Terry Lynn Cutchall.
Martha is survived by the love of her life Willard Acklin (Pete), they were married August 23, 1964 (57 years) and her 5 children, Teresa Fanton, Danny Acklin and spouse Tanya Acklin, Cannon Acklin, Toni Reeves and spouse Daryl Reeves, Lola Freeman and spouse Shane Freeman. Her grandchildren, Tiffany Farris, Donald Jean Farris, Rayanna Fanton, Racheal Acklin, James Krupka, Danyelle Acklin, Destiny Turner, Dawlton Acklin, Micheal Walker, Elizabeth Layfield, Jessica Roberts, Huffie Acklin, Dakota Acklin, Alyssa Acklin, Savanna Rummings, Bradley Reeves, Nick Gongre, Reacheal Freeman. And many great grandchildren.
Although this is a long list she was also survived by all those that she took in and called her own. She was never one to turn anyone away and everyone was family. Once you were in you were hers. Your children were hers. She had such a love for all these individuals, and I wish that we could list them all for they all are family in every meaning. She had a love for her holiday get togethers with the yard and house full of life and laughter. And a love for her church where she was one of the original members. You could find her there every Sunday in her pew,(second row from the front far left side.) rain or shine up until she was too sick to continue to attend. Everyone was welcome to join her, in fact in most cases she insisted on it especially Christmas and Mothers day, where she would fill the pews surrounding her with those she called family.
Some may say Martha made mistakes in life but who doesn't. She may of shown it to us all in many different ways, but the one thing she always was full of ,was love. She will be missed by many, however she is at peace and now she can see us as she continues to watch over all of us.
