Mark Eldon Frybarger, known affectionately as, "Bacow," passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA 71105.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 in Broadmoor United Methodist Church foyer/gathering space.
Mark was born on July 25, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mark spent his early years moving around the country due to his father's work and the family settled in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mark graduated from Byrd High School in 1972. He attended Louisiana Tech University, Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and Bossier Parish Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Construction Management.
Mark was a structural steel detailer and in 1986, he founded Frybarger Stewart & Associates along with his partner David Stewart. Mark retired in 2012.
Mark was an amazing cook who loved cooking for family and friends. Beyond the kitchen, he was an avid fan of college football, especially cheering for the Ole Miss Rebels. Mark also loved history and could tell you anything you wanted to know on any related topic. He was a fanatic about solving Sudoku puzzles. Ultimately, his greatest joy in life was his profound love for his family.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph E. and Joan R. Frybarger and sister Karen L. Frybarger.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Tracee, his daughter Brandy Frybarger, son, Matthew Frybarger, stepson, Colton East, and wife Marie; brother Steven Frybarger, and sisters Susan Frybarger, Joanne Cannatella and Kristi Tisdale; granddaughters Madysen Morgan, Mia Frybarger, Evelyn East, Camille East and Harley Frybarger.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Himanshu Desai and Dr. Neelima Chintapalli for their exceptional kindness, and compassionate care and the nurses at Christus Highland Medical Center who cared for Mark.
Memorial contributions in Mark's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
