Obituary

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marjorie Faucett will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 12:30 pm in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Keithville located at 6295 Williams Rd in Keithville, Louisiana.

Marjorie was born on November 30, 1927 in Linear, Texas. She departed on March 2, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 92. Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents, Ben and Mary Louise Daniel and her husband Dick Faucett. Also preceded by her siblings Bennie J. Daniel, Thomas "Tinker" Daniel, David M. Daniel and wife Verna, Mildred "Skeet" Durmon and husband Lossie, and Barbara Meador. She missed her husband, parents and siblings terribly. What a joyous reunion it must be!

She is survived by her stepdaughter Cindie Valis, her husband Mark and their children Colton Valis and Katelyn Gonzalez. Also survived by sister-in-law Gudrun Daniel. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Marjorie lived in Shreveport for many years, later moving to Alvin Texas. She enjoyed spending time with friends, neighbors, and family. She moved back to Shreveport to be near family after the death of her husband and due to her failing health.

She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and children. She was unable to have children of her own but dedicated her life to investing, planting seeds of faith and taking care of others. She kept children in her home from their birth until they no longer needed her care. She also spent many hours serving in her church nursery. Any conversation with her included stories of her "babies". Her home was filled with their pictures. Whether related or not they were all hers and she was proud of each one.

She was energetic, caring, and loved to be around people. Her faith was her main motivation. She loved Jesus. She loved listening to gospel music. We are thankful for a life well lived and many sweet memories of Aunt Margie.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital, Heights Baptist Church Children's Ministry in Alvin Texas, or the charity of your choice.
