Marion Daryl Webb, Jr. — "Daron," or lovingly known as "D" to all who knew him — went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle. Daron was born on May 7, 1966, to Marion Daryl Webb, Sr., and Candis Crutchfield Webb.
Daron started his career as a lineman at just 18 years old. At the end of his career, Daron had served over 40 years as a lineman with Cleco and Red Simpson. He worked for Cleco for 22 years and 6 months and met some of his closest friends. While working for Cleco, Daron led multiple crews, organized storm crews, led service centers, and taught many young linemen the trade that he loved and cherished.
Daron married the love of his life, Kristie, on July 23, 2011. The two of them went on many adventures together and enjoyed their little slice of heaven on Toledo Bend. They loved boating and being out on the lake together. They enjoyed being with their fur baby, Gizmo, and taking him on all of their adventures.
Daron enjoyed fishing with his best friend and dad, Daryl. He loved being outdoors, whether it was working in the yard or helping a friend in need.
Daron was a member of the Methodist Church of Zwolle and was very proud to be an usher. If something needed to be done, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Daron was a respected lineman, loving husband, great storyteller, reliable friend, and strong in his faith. He loved his family and friends. Daron will be very missed by all who knew him.
Remaining to cherish Daron's memory are his wife, Kristie Godfrey Webb; fur baby, Gizmo Jax Webb; father, Marion Daryl Webb, Sr.; brother, Christopher R. Webb (Kristy); children, daughter Katelyn Gingles (Dakota) and son Kyler Webb (Audrey); along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding Daron in death is his mother, Candis Crutchfield Webb.
Memorial donations in Daron's memory may be directed to Methodist Children's Home. The family would like to give special thanks to Hannah and Lang Vowell, Kristy Webb, Steven "Teefer" Haug, Donna Smith, our church family from the Methodist Church of Zwolle, our fervent and consistent prayer warriors, and numerous friends who reached out and donated during our journey. We also can't thank Cleco enough for the support and love during this time.
We are strong in our faith. We are strong together. He is now forever healed.
Honorary Pallbearers: Joey Ducote, Drew Maroney, Layne Bush, Lang Vowell, Dakota Gingles, CJ "Bookie" Grant Adams, Keith Atkins, Steven "Teefer" Haug, Brent McConathy, Bo Calhoun, Lee Garrett, and Jason Reeks.
