Margaret Ann Watkins Smith, 76 years old, born Jonesboro, Louisiana on September 10th 1939 to Matthew Francis and Lois Lyndia Cornett Watkins passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 9:30 am in University Health Shreveport.

Margaret lived in Jonesboro, Shreveport and Longstreet, Louisiana. She spent her life devoted and caring for her husband, children and extended family. During her life Margaret enjoyed dancing, sewing, bowling, softball, gardening, watching football and spending time with family. Margaret has suffered from Dementia for more than 20 years. She was cared for at home by her husband, Dwane and daughter, Donna. The family is extremely thankful for all of the love, support and continued prayers from extended family, friends and the medical professionals over the years.

Margaret is survived by husband, Dwane Smith of Longstreet, Louisiana and daughters, Donna Gail Smith of Longstreet, Louisiana, Patricia Ann Smith Wray of Keithville, Louisiana and her husband, Chris Wray, and Debra Sue Smith Davis of Coppell, Texas and her husband, Daniel Davis, sisters, Billie Jean Messner of Sale Creek, Tennessee and her husband, Raye and Gail Roberts of Gardnerville, Nevada and many loving family members.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Randy, parents, Matthew Francis and Lois Lyndia Cornett Watkins, brothers, Paul Watkins and Sanford Watkins and sisters, Gloria Faye Watkins and Louise Carter.

The viewing is Sunday, June 26th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The service will be on Monday, June 27th at noon. Both services will take place at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport. The services will be officiated by Reverend Keith Adcock. Pallbearers will be nephews. Margaret will be buried at Old Castor Cemetery in Castor, Louisiana.
