Margaret E. Cotner passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at a Shreveport hospital. She was born on January 4, 1940 in Utica, New York to Reginald Robertson Williams and Agnes Mary (Gaffney) Williams. Margaret was a member of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul until her ill health forced her to leave. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Margaret was secretary of Saint Theresa Catholic School for eight years. She was a past treasurer of The Catholic Women's League. While a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, she was very active in the church. Margaret's favorite thing was being a LEM (Lay Eucharistic Minister). She married George Wayne Cotner on April 24, 1965.  As well as being active in church, Margaret enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Margaret was a member of the National Honor Society, recipient of the Bishop's Medal, and the Caddo Parish School PTA Grandparent's award.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers Ronald James Williams and Roger Richard Williams; sisters Karen Agnes (Williams) Oleksik, Jeraldyne Ann (Williams) Horvath and infant Mary Williams.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; daughter Margaret Anne (Cotner) Hostetter; son Gary Michael (Mike) Cotner; granddaughter Gaige Leigh Hostetter; brother Bruce Arthur Williams of Owego, NY, and brother-in-law Jack Horvath of Laurie, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews spread across the country with some in Canada.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shreveport at 9am, Monday, August 19, 2019, with a funeral mass to follow beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana.
