Lynda Ann Haley Fairbanks After years of lovingly helping others through this passage, Lynda Ann Haley Fairbanks made her own transition Saturday after a brief illness. Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 11th at 11a.m. for a memorial conducted by Chaplain Barbara Jarrell at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Rd, Shreveport. Lynda was born March 27th, 1953 in England, the daughter of William Lynn Haley and Betty Jo Haley. In the face of daunting challenges, Lynda followed her heart's path and graduated NSU Nursing School at age 40, then found her true life's calling as a hospice nurse at Grace Home. She was deeply loved by her co-workers, her patients and their families, many of whom stayed in touch with her for years after their loss. Lynda is survived by her son, David Lynn Fairbanks, daughter-in-law Laura, grandsons Matthew and Johnathan; brother Robert Haley, sister-in-law Carrie and nephews Patrick, Robert, Michael and Joseph; and brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Pixie Haley of Marcella, Oregon. Left to cherish her memory are her best friends Leo Sebastien and Tracy Crain, her beloved Bassett hounds, Gracie and Charlotte, and devoted co-workers and friends from Grace Home and All Souls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Haley, and her son Gerald William Fairbanks, Jr. Family and friends wish to thank Lynda's co-workers who have stood by her so steadfastly, and the nurses at Willis Knighton South who cared for her with respect, sensitivity and grace.
