Lon "Pops" Murphy

February 27,1943 - July 16, 2021

Lon James Murphy,78, passed away on July 16, 2021 at home in Blanchard, LA. Lon worked for General Motors as a diesel mechanic, which brought him to Shreveport from St. Louis. Pop enjoyed shooting archery and watching deer in the backyard.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Murphy, children, John Harris, Vincent Harris, Sonya Stubbs, James Murphy and Richard Murphy, and many grand children and great grandchildren.

Lon was preceded in death by his parents, Bernal and Beulah Murphy.

A celebration of life will be held on August 22, 2021 from 2-4pm at the American Legion located at 5315 South Lakeshore Dr., Shreveport, LA 71109.
