Lloyd Harrison McCarty Jr.

Lloyd McCarty passed away peacefully at home with his dogs Honey & Suzie by his side on August 12, 2022 in Bossier City, LA at the age of 75.

Lloyd was born on July 15, 1947 in Rayville, Louisiana to Lloyd McCarty Sr. and Bernice Eppinette.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Guse and her husband Michael of Kissimmee, FL, daughter, Jeanette CeBallos and her husband Russel of Sanger, TX, son, Mark Mauritzen and his wife Crystal of Carthage, TX. His grandchildren, Jessica Engelhardt, Erik and Dalton Guse; Grayson, Raven and Landon CeBallos; and Brittany, Kaitlyn and Hailey Mauritzen. Great grandchildren, Joydyn, Aiden and Allyson.

He is preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 43 years; his parents Lloyd McCarty Sr. and Bernice Stuckey; as well as Stepfather, Perry Stuckey.

Lloyd was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War era. He and Carol worked side by side for many years at the businesses they owned in Carthage, TX. He loved spending vacation and spare time on the golf course, especially in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Lloyd was an excellent self-taught cajun chef. He lived in Orlando, Florida for a few years working for Walt Disney World as a cook at various places throughout the theme parks. Lloyd and Carol moved to Bossier City, LA for the rest of their days after getting their fill of sunny Florida.  Lloyd was a man of few words but with a quick wit. He was always there to be the understanding and supportive husband to Carol while being the calm and collected half of the parenting duo. His love for his dogs throughout the years was unmatched. He will be missed but we know that Carol was there to greet him, and he was glad to see her.
