July 20, 1950 – December 25, 2024
Linda Katherine Whitington Sproles, 74, of Doyline, Louisiana was welcomed by her family, friends, and Jesus in heaven on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024 and healed of her illness. Linda was born on July 20, 1950 to Parents, Curtis Wayne and Mattie Bell Whitington in Texarkana, Texas. She was the oldest of their three children, where she learned very early how to care for others and took being a big sister very serious. Linda grew up in South Bossier City and graduated from Bossier High School in 1968. Before graduating high school, she married the love of her life, and soulmate, Glenn Sproles in 1967. Together they lived the military life traveling with orders to California, and Germany, and finally back home to South Bossier City. When they finally returned home from Germany, Linda worked as an operator for BellSouth Telephone Company where she retired to hold her greatest title, Mother, and Meme. She loved her boys more than anything in the world, and then found another way to love and adore her grandchildren even more.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Glenn Sproles; sons, David and Eric "Scotty" Sproles, forever daughter in law, Katrina Sproles. She leaves behind grandchildren Tyler & Kayleigh, Taylon, True, Gavin, Raegan, and Ember; unborn first great grandson, Gunner Paul Sproles, and beloved dog, Tito; brother, Larry Whitington and nieces, Shannon Whitington, Lindsey Morvan, and Katie Martinez.
She was preceded in death by father, Curtis Whitington, and mother, Mattie Whitington, as well as sister, Vicki Whitingtonand sister-in-law, Rhonda Whitington.
A visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, 71115 with her celebration of life on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00pm at Aulds Funeral Home. Reverend Bill Lott will officiate the service. Honoring Linda Sproles as pallbearers will be Tyler Sproles, Taylon Sproles, John Raphiel, Michael Martinez, Chad Morvan, and Jimmy Stewart.
