Linda Jean Womack Brookshire Thorne, age 68, of Shreveport, LA passed away on March 4, 2019 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on February 15, 1951 in Tucker, GA, where she still has many family members and friends whom she missed dearly.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents: Frank Eugene "Gene" Womack and Emma Dean "Lightning" Cruce Womack.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of eighteen years, Richard G. Thorne; three devoted children: Julane Monahan (Thomas), Shannon Brookshire (Linda), both of Shreveport, LA, and Christy Taylor (Billy) of Longview, TX; three beautiful grandchildren: Ainsley Brookshire, Preston Taylor, and Erin Monahan. Her "fur baby" Bartboy will miss her terribly.

A memorial will be held on March 7, 2019 from 11-1pm with a brief service at noon, followed by a singing of "Amazing Grace" by Jennifer McMullen, sister-in-law of her son.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Heritage Manor Stratmore for their patience and kindness during these past few months. We also would like to thank Moms' favorite aide, Goldie "little kitty", she affectionately called her, for all that she did for our Mom.

Mom never went ANYWHERE without her sweet tea!!
