Linda Faye Reno, nee Johnston, passed Saturday, November 26, 2022, to be with her savior, following a long illness that had only lately become incapacitating. Linda was the original original and a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, friend and faithful lamb of Christ. She was born Christmas Eve 1947, shortly after her father's return from the European theater, to Charles "Chuck" and Eloise Johnston. She grew up in Shreveport, attending C.E. Byrd High School where she was an enthusiastic member of the band under revered director Tom Watson. She attended Louisiana Tech, married and had three children, balancing her love of painting with mothering and homemaking. She divorced but remarried Charles Russell Reno in 1999 and found great joy in their long close relationship. Linda was especially devoted to her own mother, and we take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Momma, Daddy, and Scotty. Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Scott Johnston, and her parents and grandmother, Vera Colvin Palmer (Mammy). Linda is survived by her husband, daughter Amy Tidovsky (Jim McDuffie) and granddaughters Miranda and Clementine Wolfe, daughter Julie James (Fred) and grandchildren Ian and Phoebe, and son Peter Tidovsky (Misty) and grandson Nathan, niece Suzanne Rimmer, and nephew Bret Johnston as well as recent caregiver Ramona Sims and other close friends. Services will be held graveside Thursday, December 1, at 11 AM at the Jonesboro Cemetery (Jackson Parish), with Dr. Tom Harrison officiating, followed by a brief reception at the Tattered Rose. Aulds is handling arrangements, and the family also thanks the St. Joseph Hospice team. For those wishing to commemorate Linda's life, the family suggests donations to the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band.
