Linda was born on June 5, 1942. She graduated from Fair Park High School Class of 1960 and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. After several years as a homemaker, she began a career in retail management at The Crystal Shoppe with her brother Jack, and later went to work at Enesco in direct gift and collectible sales. She held this position for 30 years during which she made countless dear friends. After retirement, she continued part-time with the Avanti gift card company where she had previously managed their direct sales.
During her life, Linda enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was an amateur tennis player and belonged to a SPAR league where she played on a team with two of her closest friends, Dixie and Sherry. She enjoyed dancing and listening to live music, and her weekly "meetings" with the KonTiki crew, Karen and Steve, Sandy and Action, Preston, Sharon, Doris, Annette, Yvonne, Marion, and many more close friends. Most of all she loved Jesus, his church at Summer Grove, and the many friends she made there.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Baylor University Hospital and Christus Cancer Center, Dr. Robert Massengill, and Megan Johnson for the extraordinary care they gave to Linda. A special thanks to Christus Home Health and Christus Hospice Care for their support in helping her transition to her spiritual heavenly body, and lastly, we are forever grateful to Jean Ledbetter, Peggy Johnson, Julie Ard, Reenie Ard, Doris Biren, Phillys Johnson, Betty Jo Vidler, Anita Thedford, Lisa Massengill, and others for their tireless aid while Linda was undergoing treatment in Shreveport and Dallas.
