LINDA LEGETT TOLSON MORTON

SHREVEPORT -- Memorial services for Linda Legett Tolson Morton of Keithville will be held at Keithville First Baptist Church, 6295 Williams Road.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, followed by a memorial service at the church at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 9.  Pastor Mike Stowell will preside.

Surrounded by family, Linda passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.  She was born on December 10, 1940, at Camden, Arkansas, to Leonard and Frances Legett.  She was graduated from Camden High School and attended Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia.  At Stephens, Arkansas, she met future husband Gary Eugene Tolson.  They married and raised three daughters in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Shreveport.  Gary and Linda were active in the lives of their daughters, particularly when the girls attended Woodlawn High School.  They went to athletic events, PTA meetings and school dances, where they often served as chaperones.  Linda worked as an office manager at Dykes Co. and Storer Equipment Co. and was a faithful member of Caddo Heights and Summer Grove Methodist churches and, later, Keithville Baptist.

After her husband's death, Linda married Lawrence "Tootie" Morton and welcomed his two children, Larry Morton and wife Cece and daughter Cindy Morton Morris and husband Karl, into the extended family.  Linda and Tootie enjoyed spending time with family and traveling by RV.

Preceding Linda in death were her parents and her first husband, and Mr. Morton's son, Rodney.  She is survived by her children, Tobie Tolson Morvan of Shreveport, Lori Tolson Dick and husband Eddie of Logansport, Janet Tolson Burcham and husband Chris of Benton, Cindy and Karl Morris of Keithville and Larry and CeCe Morton of Shreveport.  Her grandchildren are Chad Morvan and wife Lindsay of Bossier City, Matthew Morvan and wife Alexandra of Dallas, and Tyler Morvan of Shreveport; Jeffery Dick and wife Megan of Shreveport and Debra Timmons and husband Tyler of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ashley Digilormo of Shreveport and Leah Boswell and husband John-Michael of Minden; Will and Grant Burcham; Justin Morris and wife Wendy, Joshua Morris and wife Courtney; KayLynn Lynn and husband Patrick; Tiffany Morton; Melodie Fyffe and husband Mike; and Gregory Morton and wife Becky.  Linda also was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren.

Linda will be remembered as a gracious, loyal and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend.  She will be sorely missed.
