Obituary

Leon "Sunny" Davis was born on July 30, 1939 in Allen, La., resided in Gloster, and passed away on September 10th 2015 in Stonewall, Louisiana. Leon was a veteran of the United States Air Force. At a young age, Leon enjoyed boxing as a hobby. He loved his family, and spending time with them. He was known as the Godfather to his family, they're hero, and they're confidant. Sunny married his wife, Sally, in 1960. Together they enjoyed maintaining 32 acres of land. He loved gardening. Leon took pride in his work as a carpenter, and for 18 years he co-owned Davis Acoustics and Drywall with his brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Leola Davis, brother, Julius Davis, sisters, Eloise Wheeler, Johnie Lee Bass, and Lucy Flores. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Leon Davis Jr., daughters, Wynell Young and spouse Ray Young, Elizabeth Davis, Sharlene Horton and spouse Kenneth Horton. Siblings, Andrew Davis, Isadore Davis, Nell Davis, Pearl Etie, and Charlotte French, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dalton Griffith, Sage Davis, Cadan Cook, Ray Barbo, Pete French, Jay Kazen, and a special honorary pallbearer, David Wheeler. The family would also like to recognize Jeffrey Flores who was not only a nephew, but another son. Instead of flowers the family would like to please ask for donations to Aulds Funeral Home.
