IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence Mason
Alexander
April 10, 1946 – July 25, 2024
Lawrence "Larry" Mason Alexander was born on April 10, 1946, in Shreveport, LA to John Donald and Marjorie Carter Alexander. Larry passed away on July 25, 2024, surrounded by many loved ones.
Larry was a graduate of Byrd High School, and later honorably discharged from the Airforce after serving four years as a radar technician. While serving, Larry met his beautiful wife, Linda, whom he married on June 28, 1969. He spent his life in the elevator trade, first working for Miami Elevator and then with his father. He eventually became a co-owner of Tri-State Elevator with his brothers and cousin. Larry was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church.
Larry was devoted to his family and friends. He was loving, generous, and always just a phone call away. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, fishing, playing cards, and watching football—especially the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Larry was also known to be the first person in Shreveport to pull 10 skiers behind a party barge with an 85hp Johnson.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents John Sr. and Marjorie Alexander; brothers, J.D. Alexander Jr., Ronnie Alexander, and Teddy Alexander; sisters, Margaret Alexander-Litton and Eileen Alexander-Bott.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda G. Alexander; four sons, Bradford Alexander and Roxanne, Christopher Alexander and Brittany, Richard Alexander and Tabitha, and Dalin Alexander and Mandi; daughter, Cassie Alexander Flynn and William; brother, Charles Alexander and Nancy; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caddo Fire District 4, Shreveport Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation staff, and Bristol Hospice for providing such wonderful care for Larry.
