IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laverne
Manshack-Ross
September 4, 1958 – July 10, 2022
Laverne Manshack-Ross was born to Lossie and Clyde Manshack in Shreveport, Louisiana. She lived in Haughton, Louisiana, after a recent move from Hall Summit, where she worked at the corner store and sandwich shop. She loved her church family and activities, community service, crafts, cooking, socializing, and most of all she loved her family. When "Aunt Verbe" or "Mom" came to visit, everyone's spirits were lifted. She always had a way of letting you know that you were special and important, and that she was there for you. She loved to laugh and joke, and loved children. She would dress up on holidays just to see their faces light up.
She was a wonderful friend and a loving mother. Always had time to help the elderly and sick with a hot meal and a heart felt prayer. That is just who she was.
Laverne was preceded in passing by her parents Clyde and Lossie; seen brothers Leslie, James, Dean, Doug, Buddy, Jessie, and Woodrow; one sister Lillie Mae.
She is survived by four daughters; Stacey Carpenter, Stephanie and Vincent Furlow, Brandi Ncole and Terry Dershem, and Christina Simmons-St. John; one son J.D. Smith; one sister Vel Manshack; one brother J.C. Manshack; 17 grandchildren dozens of nephews and nieces, and hundreds of friends. She will be dearly missed. A special thanks to Chrissy, lil Doug, Kenny Chreene, Terri Manshack and everyone who helped us make it through this difficult time; Mrs. Leila Kay T.
