Laura Jean Howell-Coffman born on May 5, 1949, in Vowells Mill, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in her home in Blanchard, LA.

Jean, as many knew her by dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, cherishing them above all else. She had a remarkable ability to connect with children, extending her love and care to many throughout her life. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. Jean was a woman of deep faith, endless love, and an infectious joy that touched everyone who knew her. Her kindness knew no boundaries, and she had a special way of showing empathy, even to strangers. She also loved her family very much and was Sissy or Mom to everyone that knew her.  In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, Jean also loved talking about old times and telling everyone how proud of her boys she was.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Edward and Audrey Mae Howell several sisters Joy Thomassee, Carol Howell, and Lena May O'Bannon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children: Steven Taylor of Blanchard, Louisiana; Alvin Taylor of Mooringsport, Louisiana; and Merle Wayne Coffman Jr. and wife Angela of BeeBee, Arkansas. Her grandchildren: Baron Thomas and wife Lynnzie, Steven Taylor and wife Tiffany, Cory Coffman and wife Krystal, Wade Allen, Lynsie Moore, Max Taylor, Isabella Coffman, several great-grandchildren and one on the way, her brother, Byron Howell, a ton of nieces and nephews, and host of friends.

Services will be held at Mooringsport Baptist Church - 500 Ivy St, Mooringsport, LA on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1 PM-3 PM.
