Obituary

Lamar "Butch" Livingston Holliday, Jr. was born October 28, 1952, in Edwards, Mississippi to Lamar, Sr. and Arminda Holliday. Butch peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Butch's love of music, football (especially the Green Bay Packers), Ole Miss Rebels, New York Yankees, and civil war history was seconded only by his love for God and his family. His grandchildren were his heart and soul!

Butch worked his early years as a DJ at rock and country radio stations. After his DJ years, he spent 20 plus years as a butcher in a retail meat market, most of which were at County Market. After years as a butcher, he spent 18 years at Home Depot until his retirement 2 years ago. He enjoyed his retirement with a little golfing, a little fishing, and enjoying listening to music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Arminda Holliday and brother, John Earl Holliday.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sherline Holliday; daughter, Mandi Tanner and son-in-law, MSgt Robert Tanner; and his grandchildren, Bryce, Faith, and Jacob all currently residing in Omaha, Nebraska. Also survived by brother-in-law, Tim Price, of Dallas, Texas and sister-in-law Francis Holliday of Biloxi, Mississippi and many cousins.

Butch's family welcomes friends to attend a celebration of life at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2 PM. GO PACK GO!!
