Kevin David Rutherford, of Shreveport, LA tragically passed away on 11 April 2024 in an early morning house fire. He was only 61 years old.

Kevin was born on 18 February 1963, and spent the majority of his youth in Colorado. Although there was also some time spent in Georgia, various areas of the West Coast and California, in the early 90s he decided on Shreveport.

Kevin came to Shreveport as an employee of the United States Postal Service and did over 30 years with different stations around town.  He absolutely loved his job.  He enjoyed meeting new people and spreading happiness.  He was a loving and giving person and that is what his friends and family will remember most about him is his giving heart.

Kevin is preceded in death by his Godmother, Juanita Hayes.  He is missed dearly by those he leaves behind: his "sister"…period, Billi Hopkins; "parents", Kenneth and Orange Hopkins; niece, Quensey 'Chipmunk' Hopkins; nephew, Quélon Hopkins; Godsister, Lisa Hayes; Goddaughter, Elani Hopkins; dearest friends Marc Scott, Kelly Hopkins, George Mason, Pamela Jackson and Freddie Thompson.

His Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, 12 May at 3pm at Aulds Funeral Home.
