Lanigan
October 17, 1962 – December 17, 2022
Kevin Mark Lanigan, 60, left this world peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Willis Knighton North Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana with his family by his side.
Kevin was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 17, 1962 to John Anthony Lanigan and Juanita Mae Cantrell. He attended St. John Berchmans Catholic School and graduated from Bryd High School in 1981. He was the youngest of seven children who were all raised by their paternal grandmother, Margaret "Mot" Kelly Lanigan. Kevin lived with his beloved Mot and cared for her until the day that she passed away. Kevin worked in the hotel industry for almost two decades before transitioning into private sitter care for the elderly. In the latter years of his life, Kevin worked for the Philadelphia Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kevin was known for his infectious laugh, quick wit, and wicked sense of humor. He was an incredibly private man who invested his time and efforts in his family, his Catholic faith and close friends. He loved all kinds of music and his dogs were special to him. Kevin was a Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree of the Bishop Desmond Assembly, Council No. 324.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita, his father, John, his grandmother Margaret, his nephew Carl "Lew" Allen, his brother Michael Lanigan, and his sister Patricia Lanigan Campbell.
He is survived by his siblings: Dennis Lanigan, Steve and his wife Michelle Lanigan, Timothy and his wife Melissa Lanigan, and Susan Lanigan Gable and her husband Michael, his nieces: Tonya Lanigan Toth, Kimberly Lanigan Tumey, Sarah Lanigan Nalitt, Donna Allen, and Kelly Marie Beard Tyner, his nephews: James Lanigan, John Thomas Lanigan, and Brian Beard as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews.
The family would like to thank Chris Miciotto, Hershey Krippendorf and Latoya White of the Philadelphia Center and MS Shannon, Carmen Wynn and friends who were his second family at the Mercy Center. Their love and care for Kevin was of great comfort to his family over the years.
The family would like to also thank the staff in SICU at Willis Knighton North for the care and compassion they showed Kevin.
