Kevin Lee Cottingham was born at 6:05 A.M. Thursday November 4th, 1965 to Jerry Wayne Cottingham and Clara Yvonne Bassinger Cottingham in Salisbury, North Carolina.He lived and traveled all over the United States throughout his life but settled in Shreveport, La. He was a talented carpenter and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son and friend. He passed away suddenly Tuesday morning February 19, 2019 at Oschners-LSU Health Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his father, SGM Jerry Wayne Cottingham, and brother, Randy Wayne Cottingham. He is survived by his mother, Clara Cottingham; his wife, Martha Cottingham; his daughter, Teri Cottingham-Adamson,her husband, Sean, and their children: Crystal Cottingham, Caiden Cottingham and Connor Adamson; his previous wife, Tracey Schuman; his sister, Susan Cottingham; his nephew, Brandon Addis; his great niece, Hailey Addis; his sister in law, Kim Cottingham, wife of Randy Cottingham; his niece, Tanya Scripture, her husband, Kyle, and their sons, Matthew and Logan; his sister in law, Karen Mcdonnell; his brother in law, Ed Mcdonnell; his niece, Claire Hamlin, and her daughters, Annelise and Quinn; his nephew, Austin Mcdonnell, and his partner, Jackie and their daughter, Hannah;his sister in law, Debbie Carson; as well as countless friends. Kevin will be remembered by his kind heart, his love, and his sense of humor. He was usually the first to lend a helping hand and was very likely to give you the shirt off his own back. His love for the people around him was a true testament to the kind of man he was and will be remembered for.
