Obituary

Kermit passed away on August 4, 2020 due to COVID-19. He was born January 17, 1930 in Raven, VA and was a long-time resident of Amite, LA. After serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, Kermit went to work for Citgo and retired as a plant manager. In 2014, he moved back to Shreveport and was employed by Enterprise until entering the VA Home in 2019.

Kermit loved the Lord, reading the Bible, playing his guitar and harmonica, writing songs, and spending time with family. He was an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his Celebrations Sunday School class.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita. Kermit is survived by his sons Ron (Debbie), Kenny, and David (Terri); grandchildren Brittany (Michael), Cameron (Ashley), and Caroline; and great-grandchildren Cade and Cooper.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA Friday, August 7 th at 11 AM (masks required). In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
