Kenneth Charles Matthews, Jr. "Scrappy"

Kenneth Charles Matthews, Jr., better known as "Scrappy" was born on March 5, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on October 31 ^st , 2021, in Doyline, LA at the age of 75.

Scrappy graduated from Haughton High School in Haughton, LA. Once he graduated, he enlisted in the army and served his country with pride in Vietnam as an MP.

Scrappy was married to the love of his life, Patty Louise Sullivan, for 47 years until she passed away March 4, 2019.

Scrappy worked as a machinist alongside his brother, C.R., for 25 years at Bossier Automotive. He enjoyed working on cars, cooking, fishing, shooting guns, and loved visiting with friends and family. He had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to help others. He was a strong, courageous soul who always put others before himself.

Scrappy has made a great impact on so many lives and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Scrappy is survived by his sister, Anita Matthews Staton and husband, Gary Michael Staton, Sr., many nieces and nephews, cousins, numerous family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by wife, Patty Matthews, Father Kenneth Charles Matthews, Sr., Mother Mary Christine Matthews, sister Mary Virginia Reed, brothers Paul Matthews, C.R. Matthews, and Johnny Matthews.

The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice, nurses, and caretakers for all their prayers and support.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 on Monday, November 8th, at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport. Brother Scotty Gibson from First Baptist Haughton will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport.
