Shreveport, LA - Kenneth Cooper Martin left this world, surrendering his graces from a short illness on July 5th, 2015. Ken was born on September 30th, 1951 in Woodville, Texas. He moved to Shreveport in 1962 and attended Fair Park High School. He was an active student pursuing basketball, debate, and the school paper. Ken continued to share his literary passion as a writer for the Shreveport Times after graduating high school. He went on to gather life experience through travels, Fourth Way groups, his music, and always seeking the profound. Ken had a variety of jobs in his life, in which he each poured his passion into, never veering off the path to discovering his inner truth. He spent his days touching hearts, quietly changing the world behind his pen, and unceasingly being moved by life's small treasures. He was a healer, a teacher, and an eternal companion. He lived for justice and kindness. Ken is an everyday reminder that love is the highest form of creation. He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Martin, his brother, Steve Martin, his sister in law, Nancy Martin, and his nieces and nephew, Amanda Martin, Joanna Martin, and Mark Boyd. He was preceded in death by his mother Pearl, his father Leon, and his brother Mike Martin. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Aulds Funeral Home Chapel, 7849 E. Kings Hwy.
