Kenneth (Kenny) Ray Mills, 47, of Haughton, Louisiana, passed into the loving and healing arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 24th, 2026. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 27th, 1978. He proudly grew up and lived in Haynesville, Louisiana, where he developed his passion and love for sports, especially football. Kenny graduated from Haynesville High School in 1997, where he was a member of the track and football teams. He played on four Louisiana statechampionship football teams from his freshman through senior years under legendary Hall of Famer, Coach “Red” Franklin.Kenny then went on to work as a logger, which was one of his true passions, for the rest of his life.
Kenny was a member of First Baptist Church Haughton; the same church where he made his decision to trust in his Savior,Jesus Christ. Kenny was proud and blessed to have beenbaptized in his public profession of faith in Christ by his dear friend and pastor, Gevan Spinney.
Kenny had many passions in life. He enjoyed hunting, logging, helping others, being the life of the party, and especially anything to do with LSU Football. He was never going to miss a kickoff, even if it meant running through crossing arms to beat a train so he could ensure a prompt gametime arrival. If that weren’t enough, he even named his youngest son after LSU’sold head coach after they won the National Championship the prior season. That’s what you call true commitment right there.
He loved those things dearly, especially when doing so with his loved ones. However, Kenny’s true passion in life was his family. He absolutely adored his three children and twograndchildren. He cherished the ground they walked on. He was a loving Dad to Braelyn, Bryce and Saban, and a superhero “Da” to Brody and Kamilla. Kenny “Da” was very close to bothhis grands, especially his little partner in crime, Brody. Hewould go above and beyond to spoil and do whatever he could for them. He loved spending time with them all, especially together.
Kenny didn’t just show how deeply he cared through his affection; he also showed it through his actions. He enjoyed visiting Braelyn, Brody and Kamilla. He even enjoyed doing her yardwork, even when he would inevitably always run out of gas. Braelyn apparently inherited that trait from him too. But a brief pause in his landscaping job didn’t matter because he was just happy to be there and be able. He didn’t just stop there either; he would also do whatever he could to help his children’s friends.Braelyn’s friends always knew if they called Kenny, he’d come running. He was always the first person they called when they needed help doing anything, especially moving. Anyone who drops whatever they’re doing to help a person move is a loyal friend, indeed.
Kenny would do anything for a laugh and didn’t have a care in the world what others thought about it. He never turned down a dare. He never took himself too seriously. He would do and say whatever crossed his mind, for better or for worse. Kenny was just there for a good time.
Kenny loved riding the back roads while listening to music and talking about life with his boys. He and Saban did this countless times. It meant more to him than just killing time, it was a time of fellowship, bonding and sharing life and life’s lessons together. It was special.
Kenny also cherished the time he got to spend working with his boys, especially in logging woods. He was so proud and felt so blessed that he got that incredible opportunity. He was so extremely thankful to God and grateful to the Keith family and Allstate Land and Timber for making that dream a reality. It truly was a dream come true for Kenny. Their truck rides together to and from the job were the biggest blessing of all. They would often talk about Kenny’s two favorite things besides his family and logging, and that was college football and Jesus. Those conversations meant the world to Bryce, and now he’ll have them as a gift to remind him of his dad always.
With Kenny Mills, what you saw was exactly what you got. He was genuine. He was real. His heart was larger than his charismatic personality. He was a lover of life and people, but more than that, Kenny was a lover of Jesus. The day he got saved, his heart and life changed forever. He went from needing to search for relief from the problems and struggles of this world, to finding true peace and joy that’s only found in Jesus. Among all his accomplishments in life, this was his greatest.
Kenny went from being a slave to this world, to being a free man in his Savior. That’s what makes us the proudest of you,Dad, and that’s what’s going to carry us through this incredibly challenging time. In this moment we don’t have to say goodbye, but instead, we get the opportunity to say, “till we see you again.” We can have peace in knowing that you’re better now and in Heaven.
We love and miss you so much, and we’re proud to call you, our Dad.
Preceding Kenny in death are his parents, Kenneth Mills, and Romona Mason.
Kenny is survived by his stepfather, David Mason; daughter,Braelyn Mills; sons, Bryce Mills and wife, Haley, and Saban Mills; sister, Shawna Mills; brothers, Stacy and Steven Claunch; grandchildren, Brody Jisa and Kamilla Perez; and many nieces and nephews.
