He worked for many years at his family's business in Illinois. He absolutely loved it. He traveled throughout the state of Illinois, working in the sheet metal industry. He retired to Haughton, Louisiana. He enjoyed living the country life!
Kenneth loved his God, his family, and his country! He had a very strong faith in God and was an inspiration to all those who knew him. He also was a very loving and giving man and enjoyed helping others.
One of his favorite things to do was dance! Especially, with his dance partner of many years, Vonda Ross. Kenneth was an active member of Southern Swingers Square Dance Club, Red River Rounders Dance Club, and Active 8ers Dance Club.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica Vercler and her husband, Jeff, of Fisher, IL; grandchildren, Aubrey Pettenger and Brad Pettenger (Katie); great-granddaughters, Reagan, Quinn, and Sutton; brothers, Stephen J. Heft and Jeffrey A. Heft; his long-time friend and dance partner, Vonda Ross; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kenneth's last year was spent at Progressive Care Center where he quickly became friends with the wonderful staff there. They cared for and loved him and became his second family.
