Kenneth Dale Franks

Shreveport, LA - Services for Kenneth Dale Franks will be held at at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, where he and Nancy were members, on Friday, December 18, 2020, beginning at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Greg Davis.  There will

be no visitation due to COVID. Ken will be laid to rest in Calvin, LA.

Mr. Kenneth (Poppy) Dale Franks was born April 2, 1943 and passed away December 10, 2020.

Ken was born in Winnfield, La., raised in Calvin, La. and moved to Shreveport after college. Ken graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science and worked as a Medical Technologist. He later attended Louisiana Tech where he received his Masters in Clinical Chemistry. He worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for over 30 years and was currently an assistant professor at Bossier Parish Community College in the Science Department.

Poppy is survived by his wife, Nancy Alice Franks, brother Steve and Sheila Franks, sister in law, Sue Franks, his children Susie Fox(Dana), Jill and Ronnie Madole, and Ricky and Lauren Fox, his grandchildren Craig and Sarah Jane Madole, Kelly and George Rangel, Caroline and Delton Smith, Jennifer and Timothy Brown and Cayman Fox.  Great grandchildren include Emmaline, Archie and Fisher Madole and Charlotte Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Barnes, paternal grandparents, Allen and Addie Franks, parents, Chester and Lottie Franks, brothers Eldridge Jackson, Leslie Chester (L.C), and Edward O(Eddie) Franks, sisters Beatrice Faye Blaine, and Shara "Sandy" Gstohl.
