Kelly
Shows
Aug 9, 1962 — Sep 25, 2026
Kelly Michael Shows, 64, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born on August 9, 1962, Kelly was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, a place he proudly called home.
Kelly was known for his infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, and genuine kindness toward others. He never met a stranger and had a special way of making those around him feel welcome. Whether he was sharing a funny story, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, Kelly had a way of bringing laughter and joy wherever he went.
Kelly spent 31 years working for SWEPCO, including many years in the Transmission Department. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Grady Shows, who had also worked for the company. After leaving SWEPCO, Kelly went on to hold several other positions throughout his working life.
He believed in enjoying life and making memories with those he loved. Some of his favorite times were spent attending local events such as Mudbug Madness and the Red River Revel, as well as enjoying the excitement and traditions of Mardi Gras each year. For Kelly, these occasions were about more than the festivities themselves. They were opportunities to spend time with family and friends, share stories, laugh, and create memories that would last a lifetime.
Kelly also had a lifelong love for animals. In his younger years, he helped rescue and rehabilitate wildlife under permit with Bickham Dickson Park. He was often called upon to help animals in need, including squirrels and raccoons. His love for animals continued throughout his life, and he was a proud dog dad to his two Golden Retrievers, Fergie and Bonnie, who were rarely far from his side.
Kelly had a heart for others and was always willing to lend a hand whenever he could. His kindness, humor, and ability to find joy in life's simple moments left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those who knew Kelly will remember not only the stories he told and the laughter he shared, but also the warmth and friendship he offered so freely.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Rozell Shows, and his brother, Steven Shows.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Brown Shows, and her husband, Taylor Lindsey; his grandson, Gabe Lindsey; his brother, Lindsey Shows, and Lindsey's wife, Mary Shows; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life honoring Kelly will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Stonewall Community Center in Stonewall, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and kindness.
To his family and friends, Kelly was more than the stories he told or the laughter he brought. He was someone they were fortunate to have in their lives, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who loved him.
"The measure of a life is not in the years we are given, but in the laughter we share, the kindness we show, and the memories we leave behind."
