Katie Jean Smithpeter, born on September 17, 1985 to Michael Leo Smithpeter and Connie Jean Blaxton Smithpeter in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Katie was a loving daughter, sister, friend but most of all a loving mother who devoted her life to her children and her boyfriend of 13 years, Richard Martinez.  Katie went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  Preceding her in deathis her grandfather William Martin Blaxton, grandmother Billie Jean Blaxton, and grandmother Evelyn Smithpeter.  She is survived by her mother and father, brother Michael Bryan Smithpeter, and two children Haleigh and Colton Martinez.  Funeral services will be held at Aulds Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10am.
