Obituary

Katherine Regina Meshell, 79, was born on November 24, 1943, in Walla Walla, Washington, and passed away on November 9, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Katherine was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She is preceded in death by her fathers, Alfred John Michael Irvin, and James Cisco; mother, Regina Bell Cisco; sister, Kathleen Siegfried; her husband and love of her life, Charles Meshell; sons, John Floyd Weldon, Van Eubanks, Charles Larry Meshell, and Joe Meshell; and niece, Elizabeth Regina Hopson.

Katherine is survived by her brother, James Eugene Reser and wife, Helen; sister, Patty Tucker and husband, Bob; sister-in-love, Marguerite Gillespie and her family; dear friend and partner in crime, Velma Lawrence, and her family; children, Alice Weldon Brown, Thomas Weldon, Abie Meshell and wife, Angela, Anthony Meshell and wife, Cindy, Douglas Meshell, and many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katherine was known for the love she had for everyone and everything.  She never met a person or an animal that she would not take care of it they needed her.  She could melt your heart with her beautiful blue eyes and her contagious smile.  The world has truly lost a great soul.  She will be forever and deeply missed.  We will always remember the wonderful and wise words and lessons she has blessed us with, like knowing every flower and plant known to man!

I was given the privilege of baptizing mother in the precious name of Jesus.  Pastor, Anthony Daniels, held a very special place in mother's heart.  She had a dream of being in service and everyone laying hands on her.  The ministry of my Aunt Marguerite led us to having God come on the scene in her bedroom with tongues, interpretation, and word of prophecy.  We were blessed to have Jesus present in the room.  She was ready for heaven.  She would ask, "When is Jesus coming to get me?" She also wanted to know what heaven would look like.  She quoted to me this scripture on her last day...'In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.' John 14:2.

We will miss her precious smile and blue eyes.

First and foremost, we give thanks to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We also would like to give special thanks to our pastor, Pastor Anthony Daniels, and his family.  Also, many thanks to our wonderful church family.  We also want to give special thanks to Rodney Weldon and his wife, Linda.  Mama loved you both.  We would like to acknowledge all of Mama's friends and loved ones but there are just too many to count.  As everyone knows, Mama never met a stranger.  She was loved by all.  And to our anonymous donors, you know who you are...we love you!  This would not be possible without you and the Lord:  Thank you for always loving Mama and us too.  We will forever be thankful.

We would also like to show our appreciation and gratitude to Connie, at Aulds Funeral Home, for her empathy and help in our time of bereavement.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Calvary Pentecostal Church, located at 7288 Greenwood Road, Suite 109, Shreveport, Louisiana 71129.

At a later date and time, Katherine Regina Meshell, will be laid to rest next to her best friend and love of her life, Charles "JB" Meshell.
