Obituary

“Too everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens: A time to be born, and a time to die, and a time to plant…”

Entering this life’s journey on March 4, 1974, SSGT. James Williamson and Jettie Anne celebrated the birth of their second baby girl, Katara Renelle Williamson-Edwards in the beautiful country of England.

Katara accepted Christ at an early age and in Fort Worth, Texas. Katara attended OD Wyatt High, Fort Worth, TX, Green Oaks High School, Shreveport, La and graduating from Bossier High School, Bossier, LA in “92” with honors.

Katara attended Tennessee State University for one year and transferred to Grambling State University with a band scholarship to eventually Enlist to the United States AirForce in “95” where she served until 1998.

Katara was very intelligent young lady, very smart and loved computers and technology. She held a deep affection for spending time with her children, family and friends and immersing herself in travels. She was born into The Cowboys Nation fan club by her father and stayed a fan till end. Those who knew Katara will remember him for her infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, her love for music, dancing and her free-spirited heart.

After being diagnosed with ALS in 2024, Katara fought with unwavering courage and grace, on July 11, 2026, God decided the fight was long enough and dispatched an angel at 8:30 a.m. to carry Katara to her heavenly home.

Katara preceded in death by her loving parents, James. And Jettie Anne Williamson, a baby girl Ariana Michelle Williamson, and brother-in-law Jason Savannah. Her memory will live on by her loving six children: Leo Williamson, Cameron Williamson, Dartangen Williamson, James Williamson ll, Alana Jackson, and Saquan Coley; two sister Tyesha Harris and Lakita Savannah both of Shreveport Louisiana; nephews Davion Hounchell, Carltrell Williamson, Niki Edwards, Ladarius Williamson, and Zachariah Williamson; nieces Jahzmine Williams and Sariah Edwards: one great niece Ka’Moni Edwards; best friend Elizabeth Thomas; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.

“Death leaves heartaches only God can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
