Karen
Owens
January 13, 1953 – September 4, 2022
Karen Owens, 69, peacefully passed away September 4, 2022, with her daughter by her side in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Karen was born January 13, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the only child to Kenneth and Sarah Gibson.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1978. She attended college at Penn State University. She lived an adventurous life. She once spent the summer hitchhiking across America, attended Woodstock, and attended the 1967 anti-Vietnam war protest in Washington, D.C.

Her hobbies included collecting praying hands, also known as love hands. She also had quite a passion for gardening, constantly forming her own backyard into a mini oasis.
Karen's last year was spent battling ongoing lung disease before she succumbed to a reoccurrence of stage 3 lung cancer.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her children,
daughter, Margo Lauren Hackett, son, Travis Hackett, and his wife Andrea Hackett; Granddaughters, Micenzie, Trinity, and Trui Haggerty and Abigail Hackett; and Grandson, Bryce Hackett.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luis Owens, and her parents, Kenneth and Sarah Gibson.
