Karen Lee Hickey Prothro, 66, was born on July 20, 1959, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Margaret and Leo Hickey and she passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Karen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; she will be dearly missed by her family who loved her greatly.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Walter Prothro; sisters, Susan Ducote (Doc) and Jean Flores; son, Rickie Clayton Manning; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Manning Nelson and Annie Denae Manning Hilner; grandchildren, Brooklynn Anne Manning, Taylor Michael O'Brien, Clayton Manning, Roxie Manning; and great-grandchild, Haisley Adams.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Willis Knighton and Live Oak retirement center for the care and compassion they provided to Karen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 633 Richardson Road, Stonewall, Louisiana, 71078.  Bro. Chris Water will be officiating.
