Karen Rene Chavez, age 58, of Shreveport, passed away on January 3,
2024, peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones. Karen loved
her family, especially anything related to her grandchildren. Karen
would do anything for anyone. She made everyone who knew her laugh,
cry, and clap at all the stories she shared. Our family is grateful to know
that Karen is finally at peace.
Karen is survived by her three sons, Tony Barbo (Julia), Michael Barbo
(Ashley), and Adam Chavez (Brittani). Six grandchildren: Jose Barbo
Jr., Summer Collins, Maci Barbo, Dominick Barbo, Autumn Barbo, and
Madison Sims. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Barbo; three
brothers, Kenneth Barbo (Carmen), Ricky Barbo (Grace), and Eric
Barbo; and two sisters, DeAnna Green (Ronnie) and Stephanie Smelley
(Joe) also several nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebrating her life will be scheduled at a later date.
