IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Saffel

Memorial Service
Aulds Funeral Home
Starts at 1:00 pm (Central time)
Carlos “Kane” Saffel, 67, of Shreveport, passed away on “Valentine’s Day,” February 14, 2026, after a long fight with congestive heart failure.
He was born on July 23, 1958, in Shreveport and was the only son of Connie and Marilyn Saffel.
Kane was widely known, loved, and respected throughout his community. He was a loyal, trustworthy, and dedicated man. Kane was a “character,” to say the least; he never met a stranger and talked to everyone.
After high school, Kane joined the military and served overseas. When his tour was complete, he was honorably discharged. On December 4, 1980, Kane had his one and only daughter, Brandi Saffel.
Kane married his soulmate, Robin, in 1984 and had a series of careers over the years throughout his life, achieving success at each and every one.
Deer hunting and running dogs—where to start? This man was the most avid sportsman that ever existed, from fishing and frog gigging to hunting and running dogs.
Kane was always saving, rescuing, and bringing home all kinds of animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, and even a raccoon that stayed about 15 years. Robin never refused any animal Kane came in with. It’s who they were.
Beyond everything else, Kane was a devoted husband, brother, father, and uncle. He was touched! He leaves behind many wonderful memories, happy times, funny jokes, and pictures expressing such times.
Kane was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Saffel; his father, Connie Saffel; his mother, Marilyn Saffel; and his sister, Cathy Lee.
He is survived by his sisters, Jackie and Johnette; his daughter, Brandi Saffel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces Christy, Heather, and Amanda; and nephew Justin.
Kane had a wide circle of friends and touched lives and made people laugh wherever he went.
Kane will be greatly missed.
