Dr. Justin Estes Kidd, 73, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, surrounded by family. He was born July 3, 1941 in Bryan, TX, and attended Rice University before earning a Ph.D. in English from University of Virginia. Most recently, Dr. Kidd was an Adjunct Professor at University of Nevada - Las Vegas. He is survived by his children, Julia Kidd-Gaer of Las Vegas, NV; Helen Kidd Kirby of Des Moines, IA; James Kidd of Omaha, NE; and Grace Kidd Gregg of Shreveport, LA; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee Kidd, Jr. and Minnie Lee Kidd (nee Canterbury). A celebration of his life will be held January 17, 2015 at 2pm at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA.
