Obituary

"I delight greatly in the Lord, my soul rejoices in my God: for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation: and with the robe of righteousness as a bridegroom adorns his head with a crown, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels" (Isaiah 61:10) Visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA Wednesday January 14th from 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at Word of Life Center and officiated by Pastor Sam Carr in Shreveport, LA Thursday January 15th at 2:30pm. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Haughton, LA. Juna May went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 12, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Juna touched many lives and always put others first and will be greatly missed. Juna was the youngest of four children born to Montie and Mildred DePrang. She was born in Shreveport Louisiana on August 5, 1953 and was a graduate of Haughton High School. Juna was an active member of Word of Life Center where she faithfully served the Lord for over 20 years. Juna is survived by her loyal husband Lloyd May, and her parents Montie and Mildred DePrang, all of Bossier City. Two sisters, Judy Carol Horne and husband Gary of Haughton, Jane Ann Ashby and husband Buddy of Bossier City; and one brother Bennie Calvin DePrang and wife Diane of Shreveport. Two sons, James Lee Staton and wife Katie of Grayson, KY; Jeffrey Lynn Staton and wife Leslie of Bossier City; and, One daughter Janeen Barmore and husband Michael of Haughton; Four stepdaughters Devedia, Jenece, April and Tammee. Juna is also survived by 26 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Kevin Sittig and the staff at the LSUHSC Burn Unit, Word of Life Center, and Koran Baptist Church. The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and Burn Foundation of the LSU Burn Center.
