Judy Lynn Harper Patterson, 72, left her earthy home on Saturday, May 20, 2023 after a sudden illness.  Judy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 2, 1950, the only daughter of James and Jeanne Harper of Keithville.  She attended schools in south Shreveport and was a 1968 graduate of Woodlawn High School where she was active in many student activities.  She furthered her education at business and community colleges using those skills to provide administrative support in the oil & gas industry, for church administration and later in the medical field.

However, Judy is most remembered for her quick wit and the ability to make people laugh. She truly could have been a professional comedian.  She also loved being creative and going on outings with friends.  In more recent years, she enjoyed using social media to stay connected with friends and family.  Through all of life's ups and downs, Judy trusted in Christ Jesus as her Savior and looked to Him for her eternal hope.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, by her brother Rev. James L. Harper, Jr., by nephew John P. Harper, by niece Ashley Harper Ducote and her aunts and uncles.

Judy is survived by her two sons, Mike Patterson (Kelly) of Shreveport, LA and James Patterson (Brianna) of  Nacogdoches, TX; by her grandchildren Hunter Patterson, Hallie Patterson and Landry Patterson; by her three brothers, Jack Harper (Cathy) of Lawrenceville, GA, Jeff Harper (Patty) of Shreveport, LA, and Jay Harper of Lawrenceville, GA; by sister-in-law Judy Ann Harper of McMinnville, OR; by her many nieces and nephews and their families; by her aunt Ann Harper of Evergreen, CO, her cousins, and by daughter-in-love Amanda Moore Branch of Waskom. TX.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.  The family will receive friends following the service.
