IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita
Green
January 20, 1942 – May 8, 2021
Juanita "Frankie" Donelson Green, 79, passed away on May 8, 2021 at her home following a brief battle with cancer. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana. Kenyon Ackeberg, Pastor, of The Simple Church will officiate.
Frankie was born on January 20, 1942 in Alexandria, Louisiana and grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Fair Park High School. In 1960, she was crowned Miss Shreveport and was first runner-up in the Miss Louisiana pageant which gave her the opportunity to travel throughout the state attending many functions.
Having enjoyed the travel in Louisiana, Frankie joined the airlines. She began her career with American Airlines and retired from TWA after 35 years as a flight attendant, training, and management. She had the opportunity to fly internationally and lived in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Kansas, and Missouri. Frankie's most memorable trip was when President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy, took a two-week trip to Japan and she served as a flight attendant for their trip. After retirement, Frankie relocated to Shreveport.
In retirement, one could often find Frankie digging in her yard at daybreak working on her beautiful azaleas, ferns, roses, and camellias. Although Frankie's passion was gardening and her yard was a beautiful attraction, her greatest gift to others was the care and love she gave to everyone. Never judgmental, always objective and tossing in a wonderful sense of the ridiculous with a lot of humor, Frankie simply brought joy to all who knew her. She always liked to "interview" those she met because she was truly interested in everyone's story. Always willing to assist, Frankie was a kindred spirit and will be missed by all.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, Lola Collins Donelson and Raymond E. Donelson; and nephew, Mark Robinson. She is survived by her sister, Louise (Lou) Robinson; great-nephew, Maxwell K. Robinson; and great-great nephew, Spencer C. Robinson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nelima Chintapalli and her staff at Christus Highland Oncology Center for their care and Frankie's caregivers, Sandra Harris, and Dee Banks.
