IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Scott
Mcgill
December 30, 1978 – October 13, 2025
Joseph "Joey" Scott McGill, 46, of Shreveport, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2025, in his hometown.
Born on December 30, 1978, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Joey graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 1996 and later earned a degree in Finance from LSU-Shreveport in 2008.
After five years of dating, Joey married the love of his life, Jaime Cloud, on January 9, 2005, at the Women's Department Club in Shreveport, surrounded by family and friends. Over their 25 years together, Joey and Jaime built a life filled with love, laughter, and commitment — especially to their two cherished dogs, Annabel and Maggie. In their early years, they loved to travel and later found joy in the simple comforts of home: watching movies, trying new recipes, and doting on their pups.
For 23 years, Joey worked at The Mabry House, where he was more than an employee — he was family. Steve and Ginger Mylar lovingly referred to him as their "second son," and many of his coworkers, past and present, became some of his closest friends.
Though Joey was a quiet soul, he found happiness in life's small pleasures — tacos, video games, discovering new restaurants, and collecting fine whiskies. He also had a deep affection for animals and took pride in caring for his favorite "doggie clients": Beignet, Andouille, Étouffée, Boudain, Ellie, Lulu, and Lanny. He will be missed by so many.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jaime Cloud; his sister, Angela McGill Rogers, and her husband, Alex, and their four children; his brother, Christopher McGill; his grandmother, Winnie Bedgood; his mother-in-law, Janice Cloud; his sister-in-law, Marcie Cloud Brown, and her husband, Jon; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joey was preceded in death by his mother, Shelia Bedgood McGill; his father-in-law, Gary Cloud; and his beloved Chihuahua, Maggie.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Joey's memory to Pet Savers of Shreveport, where both of his beloved dogs were adopted.
