Joseph L. McDearmont, age 72, was born on November 4, 1951, to Joseph and Peggy (Thaxton) McDearmont and passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 12, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Peggy Kirkham and Joseph Frank McDearmont.

Joe is survived by his children, Jennifer Stump and partner, Lenny Langdon, Michael and wife, Jennifer McDearmont; his sister, Brenda and husband, Aaron Bickley; and numerous other family members and friends.

Joe was employed at Frymaster for many years until his retirement and enjoyed his years there and the friends he made while working there. Some of his favorite things to do in his spare time were the upkeep of his fishing boat and traveling to see his lifelong friends, Larry and Jenny Rankin, in Texas. He was an active member of Kingston Baptist Church in Frierson, La. and enjoyed his church family.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Glen for the care he received while there for the last two years and Lifepath Hospice for bringing him comfort before he passed away.

A memorial service honoring Joe will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115.
