Joseph was born one of two twin brothers on August 13, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Belva and Francis Harris. Joseph lived his early life in Shreveport until his family moved to Mansfield when he started elementary school. Joseph graduated from Mansfield High School and briefly attended college at Northwestern State University. Joseph lived in Baton Rouge for several years before returning to Shreveport where he lived for most of his adult life. Joseph worked for Johnny's Pizza for many years as a pizza delivery driver in Shreveport. Joseph enjoyed eating, watching classic American movies from the golden era of Hollywood, and reading history books. Joseph's favorite food was hot dogs and he also loved to go to the movies with his siblings. Joseph's favorite car was the Saturn and he was able to purchase 3 brand new Saturn's over the course of his adult life by saving his tip money from his job and paying cash for the vehicles. Joseph lived the later years of his life with his older brother Gerard who he was very close to and spent a lot of time visiting with his sister Judy who was his neighbor.

Joseph passed away on the morning of Palm Sunday April 2, 2023 at the age of 63 years after a lengthy illness with his brother Gerard by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Belva Harris, sister Lelia Marye Harris, and brother Charles David Harris.

He is survived by his older brother Gerard Harris, twin brother John Harris, sister Judith Foster, nephew Stephen Foster, sister in law Kimberly Harris, nephew Joshua Harris, and niece Alexandra Harris along with his extended family that includes numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be afterwards at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield.
