Obituary

Joseph Alan Feconda, 80, of Bossier City, Louisiana, formerly of Canonsburg and Washington, Pennsylvania, died on November 9, 2024 at his home. Joe was the son of Joseph and Ann (Fetcko) Feconda who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister (Marilyn Catalano) and wife (Karan Feconda).

Joe was a 25 year police veteran serving with both the Bossier City Police Department and the Shreveport Police Department. Joe also served in the United States Air Force with his last duty station being Barksdale Air Force Base where he learned his future trade in the Military Police.

Joe is survived by his sister Patricia Rodgers (spouse Steve) of Litchfield, Illinois; brother Robert (spouse Wendy Behm) of Leesburg Virginia; niece, Marisa Pastrovich (spouse Brad) of Litchfield, Illinois; nephew Robby Feconda of San Diego, California; and niece Heather Findley (spouse Raleigh) of Radford Virginia, a grandnephew and 2 grandnieces of Litchfield, Illinois, and dear companion Carol Lupton.

Joe was a dedicated husband, son, and brother who loved his family unconditionally. He could be a jokester and loved to discuss his favorite foods and restaurants. Joe enjoyed following LSU sports teams as well as his original hometown Steelers and Pirates which were always a source of weekend conversations enjoyed by family and friends. Joe loved to tell stories and would have everyone in his presence laughing. His love of animals was a very important part of his life. In his later years he discovered his love of cats and was adamant about taking care of and feeding several outdoor cats. His cat "Cowgirl" was, however, his favorite. She was an indoor cat that lived the life of luxury. She provided Joe with companionship and unconditional love in his last years.

There will be a celebration of life to be determined in Bossier City and cremation rites have been accorded to Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.  In lieu of flowers please send any donations to either Shriners Children's Hospital of Shreveport, Louisiana  (https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/locations/shreveport) or Ninna's Road To Rescue in Benton, Louisiana  https://www.roadtorescuela.org/.
