IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph "Joe"
Ellis Sandifer
December 7, 1947 – December 3, 2023
Joseph (Joe) Ellis Sandifer, 75, of Shreveport, La. passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Joe was the eldest child of 4 born on December 7, 1947, to lzic and Ada Bell Sandifer, who preceded him in death.
Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia, daughters, Janet, and Barbara, and his one and only granddaughter, lzabella. He is also survived by siblings Gary (Donna), Richard (Sue), and Diane Brann, along with several nieces and nephews. David, his nephew by birth, was loved and cherished as the son he never had.
Joe worked 33 years at Frymaster as a painter then 9 years at Caddo Parish School Board before retiring. His nephews will remember him taking them out to do yard work, teaching them how to maintain a lawn, and we are sure, taught them a few life lessons along the way.
Joe will be remembered as a hardworking, kindhearted, always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the time of day, never met a stranger, type of guy. He served as a deacon for years at House of Praise and Worship in Keithville. The family has fond memories of him making sure we all had a ride to church and took the children around the community to minister to others as soon as they were able to walk and talk. Our dad is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Memorial services to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 2:00pm on December 8, 2023, at AuIds Funeral Home, 7849 E. Kings Hwy., Shreveport, La. 71105.
