Memorial services for Joseph Elton Daigle, 87, will be held at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E. Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115, on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00pm. Officiating the service will be Pastor Randy Goudeau. Joe was born to Eddie, Sr. And Eula Daigle on October 31, 1934 in Eunice, Louisiana, and passed away on January 3, 2022 in Bossier City, LA.
Joe graduated from Columbia High School in Columbia, MS. Joe was as avid athlete, excelling in all sports but particularly in track and football. He attended Pearl River Junior College and Southern Mississippi University, where he played football for both. He also played football for the US Army while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his time in the military, Joe worked for Humble Oil Company before beginning a long standing career as a car dealer.
Joe was known for his charismatic and humorous personality, as well as his optimistic outlook on life. His relationship with the Lord grew throughout his lifetime and this gave him peace and comfort during difficult times.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie, Sr. and Eula Daigle, his son, John Daigle, his twin brother, Paul Daigle, his sister, Alberta Brickey, and his wife, Carolyn Daigle. He is survived by his brothers, Larry Daigle, Eddie Daigle, Jr., and wife, Patricia, and Fred Daigle and wife Vicki, his sister, Bertrella Prather, his son, Eric Daigle and wife Marie, his daughter, Karen Daigle Baird and husband Gary Baird, and also his grandsons, Aiden and Louden Baird. Joe also leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Home staff for the love, compassion and professional care they provided during his time there. We will be forever grateful for them. The family would also like to give special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis and Regional Hospice for the genuine care shown to Joe.
