Joseph Cayton Bondick, age 84, born December 20, 1935, escaped the bonds of this realm on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, and has passed into the realm of light.

He was born to Camley and Bessie Soileau Bondick in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He was the son of a sharecropper; a true cajun through and through. He joined the US Army at the age of 21 and served in both Korea and Vietnam. He went on to work in construction and asbestos abatement until he retired in 2000. Joe was a kind, gentle, simple man who believed in work when it is warranted and fun and relaxation when its not. He was always willing to lend a hand and was a friend to everyone. He always supported those around him, sometime to his own detriment.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, two step-daughters, and two wives

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Darlene Bondick Drumm of New York, sister Jeanetta and J.L. Fontenot, sister Betty and John Guillory. And numerous nieces, nephews, and step-children.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
