Obituary

Johnathan Keith Legg, 57, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Born on December 22, 1967, John was a proud Shreveport native known for his big heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to his family, friends, and favorite teams. He carried with him a strong sense of Southern pride and lived each day with authenticity and spirit. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, LSU Tigers, and NASCAR, John rarely missed a game or race — always cheering with unmatched enthusiasm. In his final days, he found joy and comfort watching his Tigers triumph in the College World Series.

John was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Modene Legg, whose love, and guidance remained a source of strength throughout his life.

He leaves behind his loving children: Kelly and her husband Ben Pritchard, and his son Steven Britton. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Donovan, Roman, and Lily Pritchard, who were the light of his life and his greatest joy.

John is also survived by his siblings: Earnie Legg and his wife Lisa, Carol Lynne Smith, and Lisa Harmon and her husband Dean. And also a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A constant companion through life's ups and downs, his beloved dog Sugar Pea, held a special place in his heart, offering unconditional love and comfort.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his devoted caretakers — Mary Ann Foster, Gary Foster, and Karla Foster — for their unwavering support, compassion, and care throughout John's courageous battle with cancer. Their presence brought peace and dignity during his most difficult days, and their kindness will be forever remembered.  Additionally, we extend a heartfelt thank you to his Hospice nurses Sandy and Susan for the care they provided.

John will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and infectious sense of humor. He had a rare gift for making others feel seen and valued, and his presence could light up any room. Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.  Visitation is from 2:00 to approximately 2:30 with service immediately after.  A light dinner will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Shreveport-Bossier Humane Society.

"May your road be smooth, your engine loud, and your team always winning. Rest easy, John — you are deeply loved and will never be forgotten."
