Obituary

How long can I live? The first question he asked when the doctor told him that his kidneys were failing due to juvenile diabetes. The doctor said "The average is five to ten years without complications. In your chart I see that you went blind 3 years prior, and you have other health problems, which can shorten that amount of time."  He asked, "You are telling me that at best I can live to see my son turn fifteen?" Most people would have felt defeated at that time. John Joseph Bolfer was not most people. John told me Ï don't know if you know this or not but, I've been drinking milk!"  He was a fighter, with the biggest heart. He would argue with a rock if it would talk back to him or try to tell him that he could not do something. His famous phrase was "Like I said."  After he got his point across, he would go to the end of the earth to show you why he felt that way and make you happy.

On August 23,2021 at 4:32pm I'm almost certain that there was an argument at the gates of Heaven.  John was supposed to have seven more years! Unfortunately, for his family and friends, God won! Lucky for John he has regained his vision, health, and is dancing in the streets of Heaven with his mom.

John was born a twin on 5/22/78. He grew up in Blanchard, LA. Many people remember playing baseball with him and his two brothers. He attended Northwood High School. John worked at Ft. Wade Correctional Facility as a correctional officer for many years.  He was a lover of life, music, movies, and a tear-jerking story.  John always rooted for the underdog. He was hilarious and loved to laugh!  His greatest loves were his two sons and New Orleans Saints!  He always said, "The only thing that I could never forgive my sons for is if they turned into Dallas Cowboys fans!"

He is preceded in death by his parents Penny Lodrige and Michael Glenn Bolfer, Sister Jennifer Dewitt.

He is survived by his other half, his twin brother Jeff Bolfer and fiancé Amber; niece, Kyndel; brother Shane Bolfer and wife Brandy; nieces, Kayleigh and Skylar; wife and best friend Kristin; and last but certainly not least his two sons Trenor and Jacob that he loved more than life itself.

Memorial will be 9/4/21 at 5:30pm at Blanchard Town Hall. 110 N. Main St., Blanchard, LA 71009. Following the memorial get out your black and gold for the celebration of life New Orleans Saints style and then a lantern release.

"There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains."-Unknown
